An acute or chronic body ache is a sign that your body needs attention and care from your side. At times these severe body aches disturbs you from normal routines. You may find it difficult to carry on your works with regular speed, as it slow downs your actions due to fatigue and pain. Taking rest is the only answer most of the times because of the extreme muscle overuse. Our body is likely to produce hormones that increase muscle tension and extreme sensitivity. This usually happens because of the stress that you come across at office hours, strenuous lives and sometimes the unplanned diet one follows.
Before getting the right treatment for your condition, it is considerable to know what caused the pain. If it is a generalized pain a proper medication/ home therapy would resolve the problem. But what if the pain is severe? You need to find the root cause and it is necessarily important. Sometimes we experience body aches from flu which is usually the worst cause and it is unrealistic to get rid of body pains from flu. You may also experience muscle aches immediately after having a workout. This is usually seen in beginners but at times it may even cause because of the wrong form you take up during the exercises. Doing vigorous exercises also leads to pain in shoulders, lower back, and in the neck. However some sample protective measures to relieve your muscles can reduce pain for the muscle soreness.

Relieve Body Aches from Flu: If your body aches are caused commonly by flu, the first and the best step to take is to run a hot bath. The hot water eliminates the body aches you are suffering form. However, it does not help in completely reducing the pains, some of the mild pains are taken away. Most of the aches initially do cause pain in your legs and they stand in first place to bother you.
Ask someone to gently massage your body so that you feel relaxed. Rubbing the body with a mentholated cream at ache points, makes your body feel free and soothes the aching. Placing heating pads or heating blankets on the ache spots would relieve from pains caused by body aches. Taking aspirin, advil, Tylenol would help in reducing the worst body aches.
Relieve Body Pains caused due to Muscle Soreness: Muscle overuse would be extreme in case of beginners in their daily workout. Pain would go away after the continuity of 2 or 3 workouts and in the mean time you can switch onto other alternatives to relieve the soreness. Applying ice packs for the first 2 or 3 weeks on the affected muscles would reduce inflammation. Applying heating pad for the first 24 to 72 hours is also good.
Massage the affected muscle area as often as possible to relieve stiffness and giving enough sleep is also necessary. Acetaminophen, naproxen, aspirin, ibuprofen would help you relieve soon from painful muscle aches. If the pain is unmanageable it is better if you take a proper medication given by your doctor. You can also prevent muscle aches by doing a simple warm up exercises and it seems unnecessary for most of them.
Get Rid of Pain on Neck and Shoulders: With the increase in desk jobs in recent times, soreness in neck that gradually radiates across shoulders is quite common problem. Especially sitting for longer hours in front of the computers and cradling a phone between your ear and shoulder is more susceptible. Practicing forearm and wrist rests lowers the risk of neck and shoulder pains. Preventing awkward postures, shoulder shrugs and head turns once in a while at work place could not cause much pain.
Relieve Stress on Your Lower Back: Long periods of immobility, or workouts which involve high- intensity exercises, lifting heavy weights in an incorrect manner, awkward postures of your upper body could be some of the causes that leads to pain in the lower back. This sometimes radiates across your legs which makes the pain more chronic. Exercises like stretching, walking helps in getting rid of body pains temporarily.
Supporting your lower back with a pillow while driving or traveling would reduce the strain in your lower back. Maintaining a proper posture however would prevent you from experiencing a chronic affect on your lower back. Taking hot bath with the addition of Epsom salts in the hot water would be highly beneficial. Consult a doctor if the pain continues on long term basis.
Relieve Mental Stress: Mental stress could also lead to acute body aches if proper care is not taken. Following good sleep has intense therapeutic affects and relieve from pains and acute aches that causes illness. Lack of good sleep can be attributed to a poor mattress, intake of alcohol or caffeine and other sleep or brain abnormalities. Meditation for about 20 minutes in a day would reduce mental stress that causes mild head ache if not given proper attention. Doing exercises reduces stress levels and triggers the production of endorphins that reduce pain and makes you feel relaxed.
Get Enough Proteins to Combat Stress: Adapting yourself to a high protein- centric diet would help in rebuilding your muscle strength and hasten recovery. Blood is rich in proteins, so for the healthy distribution of nutrients all through your body intake of proteins is important. Protein intake in your diet makes up to the total of 15 to 20% of energy intake and helps in enduring the body’s strength.
Eat lean proteins such as fish, chicken, soy, beans, tofu, and egg whites and are considered as rich sources for proteins. Women should consume protein the size of the palm of the hand and men should consume twice the amount. Too much of protein is not suggested so do not exceed the limits. Keep yourself hydrated as water helps in elimination of toxins and waste in blood stream.
